Andres Murro (born 1903 in the village of Tychela in the Bulgarian Province, August 29, 1941) - Estonian Communist activist, Estonian SSR (1941)
Between 1917 and 1922 he was a student of the Gymnasium of Tartu, from January 1922 to October 1940, a member of the Communist Party (Bolsheviks) of Estonia. In the years 1923-1924 a member of the Estonian Workers' Party, from August 1923 to January 1924 the organizer of the illegal Komsomol Committee in Parnu. In January 1924, he was assigned to the Estonian Army, the 4th Cavalry Regiment in Parnu, but on January 24, 1924, he was arrested for communist activities. From January 1924 to May 1938 he was imprisoned in Tallinn. Released on amnesty, he worked on construction sites in the vicinity of Parnu, working in the underground committee of the Communist Party of Estonia in Parnu. After the aggression of the USSR to Estonia and the beginning of the occupation on July 1, 1940 he was assistant to the director and shortly thereafter director of the Tallinn Police Headquarters (July-August 1940). From September 26th to July 31st 1941, the Estonian SSR, Interior Minister of Estonia, since March 29, 1941, Senior State Security, from 15th to 29th August 1941 Deputy Estonian SSR Internal Affairs Commissioner militia. He was killed on board a sunken ship during a Tallinn sea evacuation. Bibliography
