Igor Ojstrach (2010)

Igor Dawidowicz Oistrakh (Russian Игорь Давидович Ойстрах, born on April 27, 1931 in Odessa) - Ukrainian-Russian violinist, conductor and teacher.

He learned to play the violin with his father Dawid Oistrakh. He graduated from the Moscow Conservatory. Winner of the 1st prize at the International Violin Competition Henryka Wieniawskiego in Poznań in 1952.

He has performed all over the world in the most prestigious concert halls. He made many recordings in phonographic companies like: Deutsche Grammophon, EMI, Decca, RCA, Melodia.

He led the violin class at the Moscow Conservatory and the Royal Conservatory in Brussels (Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles).
