Vasili Tolstoyov
Василий Сергеевич Толстиков (born 6 November 1917 in Tula, died 29 April 2003 in Moscow) is a Soviet and Russian politician, diplomat, member of the Central Committee of the CPSU (1961-1981).
In 1940 he graduated from the Institute of Railway Transport Engineering in Leningrad, 1941-1946 served in the Red Army, during World War II he fought among others. In Karelia, the war ended in senior Lieutenant in Austrian territory.
1945-1946 in the Soviet occupation troops in Germany, 1946-1952 in the construction organization in Leningrad. In 1948 he joined the WKP (b), since 1952 he was a party official in Leningrad and the Leningrad Oblast. 1957-1960 First deputy chairman of the Executive Committee of the City Council in Leningrad. Secretary from 13 October 1960 to 3 May 1962 II Secretary, and from 3 May 1962 to January 1963 First Secretary of the CPWR Regional Committee in Leningrad. From October 31, 1961 to February 23, 1981, member of the Central Committee of the CPSU, from November 23, 1962 to April 8, 1966, member of the CPSU Central Office for the Russian FSRR, simultaneously from December 7, 1962 to January 18, 1963 Chairman of the CPWR Regional Committee for Industrial Production in Leningrad and from January 18, 1963 to December 15, 1964 First Secretary of the Industrial District Committee of the CPSU in Leningrad. From 15 December 1964 to 16 September 1970 again the First Secretary of the Regional Committee of the CPSU in Leningrad. From October 16, 1970 to July 24, 1978 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USSR in China, and from February 1, 1979 to June 3, 1982 in the Netherlands. Since 1982 retired. Member of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR (1962-1974), member of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR (1961-1971). Since 1992, activist of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.
