The old man in rejuvenated fire (Das junggeglühte Männlein) - a Grimm brothers story published in their 1815 Fairy Tales (volume 2, no. 147). Contents

Jesus, in the company of St. Peter, wandered around the world. One day they stopped at a blacksmith's home, which gave them a visit. There was also a beggar who was devastated by disease and age. Jesus decided to heal him. He put it in a red-hot oven. When the beggar left the stove he was young, healthy and full of strength. When the Lord Jesus and St. Peter left, the blacksmith decided to rejuvenate his mother-in-law. He put her in a hot oven, but not only did she not rejuvenate, but she burned even hotter. Her sight so frightened the blacksmith's wife and stepson that both women who had been pregnant delivered the monkeys instead. Both escaped into the forest, giving birth to all monkeys. Bibliography
