Nicefor Diogenes


Nicefor Diogenes (Greek: Νικηφόρος Διογένης, born 1070) - a Byzantine co-operative (1070-1071) during the reign of his father Roman Diogenes. Curriculum vitae

He was the son of Roman Diogenes and Eudoxia Makrembolitissa. As a child, he was crowned Emperor. After the fall of his father, he was sent to a monastery. He returned from exile during the reign of Alexius I Comnenus in 1081. He was a participant in the campaign against Normans and Petchesters. He was also the Governor of Crete. He was blinded by the conspiracy against the emperor. Bibliography
